Scholarship Awards Program

Balancing a college education with a military career presents significant challenges. The 28th Infantry Division Association commends Pennsylvania National Guard members for their commitment to both academic achievement and military service. Each year, the Association awards scholarships, at the discretion of the Executive Council, to eligible Pennsylvania National Guard members pursuing higher education as full-time students in accredited trade, vocational, or undergraduate degree programs. The Association awards four annual scholarships of $750 each through the Pennsylvania National Guard Scholarship Awards Program.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Be an active member of the Pennsylvania Army or Air National Guard.
• Be the child of a member of the Pennsylvania Army or Air National Guard who is deceased or was permanently disabled while serving on National Guard duty (documentation required, such as DD Form 214).

Eligibility conditions:

• Military rank of the applicant or their family members is not a selection criterion.
• Recipients must be members in good standing of a Pennsylvania National Guard unit during the academic term in which the scholarship is awarded.
• Graduate students are not eligible for this program.

Eligible Guard members fall into one of the following categories:

• Category I: Entering the first year at an institution of higher education as a full-time student.
• Category II: Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an institution of higher education.

Application Information

Scholarship applications are available through the Pennsylvania National Guard Education & Incentives Center. Applications may be obtained in person, by phone, or by mail request.

Filing Deadline

The application deadline is June 30, 2026. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
