Mutual care of the wounded German and 28th Division soldiers on the Kall Trail

The 1944 Hürtgen Forest Museum in Hürtgenwald, Germany, underwent renovations last year. The exhibit “A Time for Healing,” which highlights the mutual care of the wounded on the Kall Trail, is now prominently featured in a large display. The 28th Infantry Division is also prominently represented throughout the museum.
In the course of the Hürtgen Forest battle, an act of humanity took place on the Kall Trail, which was rare at the time. During several ceasefires, German and 28th Division soldiers worked together to retrieve wounded.
From Sunday, March 2, 2025, the museum is open until the end of November 2025, every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The medical bunker in Simonskall is open every 1st Sunday of the month from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
